Sometimes the best way to understand a product is to see it in action. We've put together a short video walkthrough of the Clover POS system — covering the hardware, the software, and the day-to-day experience of running your business on Clover. Whether you're a restaurant owner, a retailer, or a service-based business, this video will give you a clear picture of what Clover can do.
Clover is one of the most versatile POS platforms available today. The hardware lineup spans from the pocket-sized Clover Go — a mobile reader that pairs with your phone — all the way up to the Clover Station Duo, a full countertop system with a customer-facing display. Every device runs the same intuitive software, so your team learns it once and uses it everywhere.
What sets Clover apart from a basic card reader is the depth of its software ecosystem. The Clover App Market gives you access to hundreds of add-ons: loyalty programs, online ordering, employee scheduling, inventory tracking, gift cards, and more. You build the setup your business actually needs — not a one-size-fits-all package.
Reporting is another area where Clover shines. The dashboard gives you real-time visibility into sales, top-selling items, employee performance, and refund activity — all accessible from any device, anywhere. For multi-location businesses, you can view consolidated reporting across all your sites in one place.
Security is built into every layer of the Clover platform. Transactions are protected with end-to-end encryption and tokenization, and Clover is fully PCI-compliant out of the box. You can accept chip cards, contactless payments, and digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay — giving your customers every option they expect.
Delta Payments is a certified Clover reseller. We'll help you choose the right hardware for your business, handle setup and onboarding, and provide ongoing support — with consistent rates and no surprise fees. If the video sparked some questions, we'd love to talk. Reach out to our team and we'll walk you through everything.

Selecting the Right Terminal for Processing Your Payments
Choosing the right payment terminal is one of the most important decisions a merchant can make. The wrong choice can mean slow checkout lines, compatibility headaches, or unnecessary fees. The right one can streamline your operations and improve the customer experience from day one.
The first question to ask is: how do your customers pay? If the majority of your transactions are card-present (in-person), you'll want a countertop terminal or an integrated POS system. If you're mobile — a food truck, trade show vendor, or service professional — a wireless or mobile reader may be the better fit.
Countertop terminals like the Ingenico Desk series or Verifone T650c are workhorses for high-volume retail and restaurant environments. They support chip (EMV), swipe, and contactless (NFC) payments, and many integrate directly with your existing POS software via a payment gateway.
For businesses that need mobility within their location — tableside ordering at a restaurant, for example — wireless terminals that communicate over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth are ideal. These give your staff the flexibility to take payment anywhere on your floor without running back to a fixed station.
Integrated payment terminals connect directly to your POS software, eliminating manual entry and reducing errors. This integration also speeds up reconciliation at the end of the day, since transaction data flows automatically into your reporting system.
When evaluating terminals, also consider: Does it support the payment types your customers prefer (contactless, digital wallets)? Is it compatible with your current or planned POS software? What are the processing fees associated with the hardware and gateway? Delta Payments can walk you through all of these questions and help you find the right fit for your business.

Force post transactions — sometimes called forced sales or offline transactions — allow merchants to complete a sale even when a card authorization cannot be obtained in real time. While this feature exists for legitimate purposes (such as processing payments in areas with poor connectivity), it has become an increasingly popular tool for fraudsters.
In a standard transaction, the merchant's terminal sends an authorization request to the card network, which checks the cardholder's available balance and approves or declines the transaction. A force post bypasses this step entirely. The merchant manually enters an authorization code and the transaction is submitted directly for settlement — no real-time approval required.
Scammers exploit this by presenting stolen or compromised card numbers and providing a fake authorization code. Because the terminal doesn't verify the code in real time, the transaction goes through. By the time the fraud is detected during settlement, the scammer is long gone — and the merchant is left holding the chargeback.
This type of fraud is particularly common in industries where force posts are a routine part of operations — petroleum merchants, hotels, and car rental companies. Fraudsters target these environments specifically because staff may be accustomed to accepting force post transactions without additional scrutiny.
To protect your business, train your staff to be skeptical of any customer who insists on a force post transaction, especially for high-dollar amounts. Verify that your terminal settings restrict force post capabilities to authorized personnel only. And review your settlement reports regularly for transactions that were settled without a matching authorization.
If you suspect your business has been targeted by force post fraud, contact your payment processor immediately. Delta Payments can help you review your transaction history, tighten your terminal settings, and implement controls to reduce your exposure going forward.
"Fraudulent opportunities often lie at the intersection of convenience and security, and force post transactions are a perfect example."

Twice a year — every April and October — Visa and Mastercard publish updates to their interchange fee schedules. These changes affect the rates merchants pay every time a customer uses a credit or debit card at their business. Staying informed about these updates is essential for managing your processing costs.
For April 2023, one of the most notable changes involves Mastercard's petroleum interchange program. Mastercard has removed the transaction cap that previously applied to certain petroleum merchant transactions. This means that for qualifying fuel purchases, the interchange fee will now be calculated as a percentage of the full transaction amount rather than being capped at a fixed dollar figure.
For petroleum merchants processing high-value fuel transactions, this change can have a meaningful impact on per-transaction costs. It's worth reviewing your recent statements to understand your current interchange mix and model how the April changes will affect your monthly processing expenses.
Beyond petroleum, the April 2023 updates include adjustments to several card-not-present categories, changes to certain rewards card tiers, and updates to qualification criteria for preferred interchange rates. Merchants who accept a high volume of rewards cards or e-commerce transactions should pay particular attention to these changes.
One of the best ways to minimize the impact of interchange increases is to ensure your transactions are qualifying at the best possible rate. This means submitting complete transaction data, settling transactions promptly, and using address verification (AVS) for card-not-present sales.
Delta Payments reviews interchange updates on behalf of our merchants and proactively communicates changes that may affect your business. If you have questions about how the April 2023 updates apply to your specific situation, reach out to our team — we're happy to walk through your statement with you.
"Every April and October, Interchange Fees are changed by the Associations. One highlight is the removal of the cap for Petroleum Merchants for certain Mastercard Transactions."

Marketing your business doesn't have to cost a fortune. In fact, some of the most effective ways to attract new customers are completely free — they just require a little time and consistency. Here are several strategies you can start using today.
Claim your Google Business Profile. This is the single most impactful free marketing move most small businesses can make. A complete, verified Google Business Profile means your business shows up in local search results and on Google Maps when potential customers search for what you offer. Add your hours, photos, a description, and encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews.
Get listed in online directories. Beyond Google, there are dozens of free business directories where you can create a listing: Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Maps, Facebook Business, and industry-specific directories relevant to your niche. Consistent listings across multiple platforms improve your local SEO and make it easier for customers to find you.
Leverage social media. You don't need a paid advertising budget to build a following on social media. Posting consistently — even just a few times per week — keeps your business visible to existing followers and can attract new ones through shares and discovery. Focus on the platforms where your customers actually spend time.
Ask for referrals. Word of mouth is still one of the most powerful marketing channels available. Don't be shy about asking satisfied customers to refer friends, family, or colleagues. A simple ask — in person, via email, or on a receipt — can generate a steady stream of warm leads at zero cost.
Create helpful content. Blog posts, how-to guides, and short videos that answer common questions your customers have can drive organic search traffic to your website over time. You don't need professional production equipment — a smartphone and genuine expertise are enough to get started.
Partner with complementary businesses. Identify other local businesses that serve the same customer base but don't compete with you directly. Cross-promote each other on social media, co-host a local event, or offer a joint discount. These partnerships cost nothing and can introduce your business to an entirely new audience.
"Use online directories — one way to market your business is to register with Google My Business. This is a free tool that allows you to create a listing for your business so it can easily be found on Google searches."

Chargebacks are one of the most frustrating challenges a merchant can face. When a customer disputes a charge with their bank, the funds are pulled back from the merchant — often before the merchant even has a chance to respond. Understanding how chargebacks work and how to protect your business is essential for any merchant accepting card payments.
A chargeback occurs when a cardholder contacts their issuing bank to dispute a transaction on their statement. The bank investigates the claim and, if it finds merit, reverses the transaction and debits the funds from the merchant's account. The merchant also typically incurs a chargeback fee, which can range from $15 to $100 per incident depending on the processor.
Chargebacks fall into several categories: fraud (the cardholder claims they didn't make the purchase), authorization issues (the transaction wasn't properly authorized), processing errors (duplicate charges, incorrect amounts), and customer disputes (the goods or services weren't delivered as described). Each category has its own resolution process and timeframe.
The best chargeback protection is prevention. For card-present transactions, always require a chip or contactless payment rather than a swipe — EMV chip transactions shift fraud liability to the card issuer, not the merchant. For card-not-present transactions, use AVS (Address Verification Service) and CVV verification to confirm the cardholder's identity.
Clear communication also reduces chargebacks significantly. Make sure your refund and return policy is prominently displayed at the point of sale and on your receipts. Use a recognizable billing descriptor — the name that appears on the customer's statement — so customers don't dispute charges they simply don't recognize.
When a chargeback does occur, respond promptly and with thorough documentation. Gather your transaction records, signed receipts, delivery confirmations, and any communication with the customer. A well-documented rebuttal significantly improves your chances of winning the dispute.
Delta Payments monitors chargeback activity for our merchants and can help you build a response strategy. If your chargeback ratio is climbing, reach out — we can review your transaction practices and recommend specific steps to bring it back down.
"Having a prepared strategy in place to deal with chargebacks when they occur is key. A Chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a merchant charge on their credit or debit card."
